Whitepaper: Sponsorship Management – The Current Situation in the BBL, DEL, HBL and VBL

Thanks to the long-standing expertise of our SponsoRights founding team in professional football, we have already identified numerous pain points in the sponsorship management of professional football clubs and, in response, developed our innovative sponsorship management system.

In order to gain insights into sponsorship management at professional sports clubs outside of football, and to better adapt and further develop our digital solution to reflect the current situation, requirements and needs of these clubs, we have conducted qualitative online interviews over the past few months with sponsorship and club managers from the easyCredit BBL, Penny DEL, LIQUI MOLY HBL and VBL leagues.

 

The focus was on the current challenges and weaknesses that B2B marketing teams face in their day-to-day sponsorship management work – particularly with regard to support from IT tools.


To summarise: The fact that most clubs still rely heavily on manual lists demonstrates that there is still significant potential in their most important revenue stream, both in terms of efficiency and revenue optimisation, which can be tapped into with the help of suitable digital tools.
